fresh

December 28, 2009

I just realized how excited I am to start something new. Granted, it will not be until the end of this coming Summer, and that is certainly a long time, but…it’s coming. And I’ll know by April, hopefully. My prospects so far are Chicago, Ann Arbor, Cleveland, Boston, and Westchester county — haven’t heard back from Yale, and although hopeful, I’m not crossing my fingers. Graduate school is going to be a good thing. I’ve come full circle in graduating — overwhelmed by my love of the major people of my education — Susan, and JM, and the new people I’m glad I made the time to meet — Sandy, and Dr. Kramer.

Like the last time I began to write again in this blog (really…cathartic stream of whatever sort of conciousness I’m in), I am in Ireland. It was one of those visits home that was so awful, depressing and stressful, until we had it out and just talked about everything (although in the O’Hara household we can never manage to just talk, only shout) — and now I’m more able to manage my expectations and to go with the flow.

My oldest sister is getting married. She’s the first one. I am overjoyed. I was floored how happy I was after hearing the news. My brother may be a serious candidate for a job in London. I’m done with my undergrad. There are loose ends, but we are changing. I am so happy we were able to make it through the mess.

Now I just have to get through my last 6 – 8 months of Ithaca. Between working for a professor, continuing with Suzuki, auditions all over, and living with my two wonderful roommates…I know it’ll be alright.
